Baseball Recap: Lakeside's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

After low-scoring totals in their previous three contests, Lakeside brought some dynamite into their most recent game. They never let the Tri-Cities Bulldogs get on the board and left with a 21-0 victory on Wednesday. The result was nothing new for the Vikings, who have now won eight matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

James Huey looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.

On the hitting side, Jayden Mosley and Rory Lichtman did most of the damage at the plate: Mosley went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Lichtman went 2-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI Lichtman has posted since March 1st. Another player making a difference was Matthew Russell, who scored two runs while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Lakeside was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .440. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Tri-Cities only posted a batting average of .000.

The win snapped Lakeside's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 11-6 record. As for Tri-Cities, they dropped their record down to 0-12 with the loss, which was their seventh straight at home.

Lakeside will have a chance to go back-to-back against Tri-Cities: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
