The Grand Terrace Titans stacked an eighth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Saturday. They took their matchup on the road with ease, bagging a 66-24 win over Bernstein. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 40-11.
Grand Terrace was led to victory by Jayleen Barajas and Mikhia Anderson. Barajas scored 27 points along with six rebounds and five assists, while Anderson dropped a triple-double on 22 points, 15 rebounds, and 11 steals. Barajas is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Vanessa Villalobos was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
Despite the loss, Bernstein still got an impressive performance from Marlin Mendez, who scored ten points. Another player making a difference was Odali Rivera, who scored seven points.
Grand Terrace is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 17-7 record this season. As for Bernstein, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 14-8 record this season.
Grand Terrace will head out on the road to take on Carter at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Carter is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak. As for Bernstein, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Roybal at 4:00 p.m. Roybal is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
