Football Recap: Redbank Valley Piles Up the Points Against Otto-Eldred/Oswayo Valley

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Brockway, Redbank Valley was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They took their contest with ease, bagging a 55-28 win over Otto-Eldred/Oswayo Valley. The Bulldogs haven't had any issues with Otto-Eldred/Oswayo Valley recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Redbank Valley to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jaxon Huffman, who picked up 119 receiving yards and three TDs, and also punched in one touchdown on the ground. That's the most receiving touchdowns Huffman has posted since back in September of 2024. Braylon Wagner was another key signal caller, throwing for 251 yards and five TDs.

Redbank Valley was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 218 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

When it comes to explaining why Otto-Eldred/Oswayo Valley lost, don't look at Shane Magee. Despite the final result, he rushed for 134 yards and one score on only eight carries, and also threw for 270 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 15 passes. Magee's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 121 rushing yards. Otto-Eldred/Oswayo Valley's leading receiver Wyatt Blendinger was Magee's top target yet again, picking up 113 receiving yards and one score.

The win got Redbank Valley back to even at 2-2. As for Otto-Eldred/Oswayo Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.

Looking ahead, Redbank Valley will host Port Allegany at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 920 yards in their previous games. As for Otto-Eldred/Oswayo Valley, they will head out to take on Kane at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
