Syracuse is 1-9 against Lakin since February of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. Both teams will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 23rd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Kansas (Syracuse is ranked 19th, while Lakin is ranked 24th).
Syracuse has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They fell 40-33 to Stanton County on Saturday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Syracuse has scored all season.
Meanwhile, Lakin entered their tilt with Sublette with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Lakin came out on top against Sublette by a score of 70-62 on Saturday. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Syracuse's defeat dropped their record down to 8-3. As for Lakin, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season.
Syracuse beat Lakin 52-40 in their previous matchup on January 5th. The rematch might be a little tougher for Syracuse since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
