Basketball Game Preview: Turlock Christian Eagles vs. Dos Palos Broncos

The Turlock Christian Eagles are taking a road trip to square off against the Dos Palos Broncos at 12:00 p.m. on Monday. Turlock Christian will be strutting in after a victory while Dos Palos will be coming in after a loss.

While Turlock Christian didn't have the best season last year (they finished 6-20), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. Couldn't have asked for a better way to wrap up 2024 than the 44-12 stomp they got against Big Valley Christian. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four contests by 21 points or more this season.

Turlock Christian's win on Monday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Faith Hayes, who went 9 of 19 en route to 18 points along with seven boards and three steals. Hayes has been hot, having also posted two or more blocks the last seven times she's played. Christiana Eivaz was another key player, putting up six points and 21 rebounds.

Turlock Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards in five consecutive matches.

Meanwhile, Dos Palos was beaten by Washington Union 47-14 two weeks ago. The game marked the Broncos' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Turlock Christian is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season. As for Dos Palos, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-8.

Turlock Christian came up short against Dos Palos in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, falling 31-20. Can Turlock Christian avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
