The Quartz Hill Royals lost a heartbreaker when they last took the court, but unfortunately for them the loss they were handed on on Monday was a bit more commanding. They suffered a rough 66-42 defeat at the hands of Highland. While losing is never fun, Quartz Hill can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 655th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 255th).
Quartz Hill lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Ashantee Palmer, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Palmer has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last eight times she's played. Another player making a difference was Mandy Frozina, who scored five points along with eight assists and three steals.
