The Southmoreland Scotties were the 78-55 winner over the Indiana Little Indians when they last played one another back in January of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Southmoreland took a 57-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of Indiana on Wednesday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Southmoreland has scored all season.
Southmoreland's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ty Keffer, who scored 16 points. Keffer is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last four games he's played. Noah Felentzer was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Southmoreland's defeat dropped their record down to 12-2. As for Indiana, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-6.
Southmoreland on the road again on Tuesday and play against Valley at 7:30 p.m. on January 23rd. Valley will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings (they are ranked 587th, while Southmoreland is ranked 111th). As for Indiana, they will be playing at home against New Castle at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday.
