On Wednesday, Odessa beat Clinton 9-5. The win continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Cardinals: they've now won five in a row.
Addison Cross looked comfortable as she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Bella Blackaby, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Brooklyn Burks, who went 3-for-4 with two runs and one triple.
Meanwhile, Warrensburg was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against Belton, falling 20-5.
Aspen Osborn was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Olivia Johnson, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
The victory got Odessa back to even at 8-8. As for Warrensburg, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-12.
Warrensburg's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Odessa has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .446. It's a different story for Warrensburg, though, as they've only averaged .357. Will they be able to contain Odessa's hitters?
