Glendora is 9-1 against Ayala since December of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Glendora Tartans are on the road again and play against the Ayala Bulldogs at 5:30 p.m. on December 22nd. Hopefully Glendora focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Wednesday.
Glendora has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight games by 26 points or more this season. They took their match on the road with ease, bagging a 68-30 victory over Ramona. Given Glendora's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 30th, while Ramona is ranked 644th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Glendora got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Rylie Anderson out in front who scored 20 points along with six steals. Anderson is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Addison Martin was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with five steals.
Meanwhile, Ayala was the victim of a rough 47-25 defeat at the hands of Walnut on Monday. Ayala has struggled against Walnut recently, as their contest on Monday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Glendora pushed their record up to 12-1 with that victory, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.9 points per game. As for Ayala, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-6 record this season.
Glendora strolled past Ayala in their previous meeting back in February by a score of 77-58. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Ayala's Emily Cruz, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 14 rebounds. Now that she won't be playing on Friday, will it be that much easier for Glendora to walk away with another win? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
