The Etna Lions will head out on the road to square off against the Mazama Vikings at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Etna is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.7 runs per game this season.
Etna's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They blew past Trinity 21-0. The win continues a trend for the Lions in their matchups with the Wolves: they've now won nine in a row.

Clayton Harris made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out 14 over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and one double. Etna is 5-1 when Harris posts three or more RBI, but 2-7 otherwise.
In other batting news, Oliver Griggs was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with six RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most hits he has posted since back in May of 2025. Another player making a difference was Clint Jenner, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Etna always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .700. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Mazama didn't have quite enough to beat The Dalles on Saturday and fell 5-4.
Kellan Lee was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs. Max Rodgers was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Mazama's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-6-1. As for Etna, their record is now 7-8.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Etna has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9 hits per game. However, it's not like Mazama struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 3.8 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Etna beat Mazama 7-2 in their previous matchup back in March of 2023. Will the Lions repeat their success, or do the Vikings have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
