Arroyo is 0-4 against Berkeley since January of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Arroyo Dons will look to defend their home court against the Berkeley Yellowjackets at 6:30 p.m. Arroyo is out to stop a six-game streak of losses at home.
Last Monday, Arroyo didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Livermore, but they still walked away with a 39-35 win.
Arroyo found their leader in underclassman Laila Bravo, who scored 15 points along with nine rebounds and two blocks. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Bravo has scored all season.
Meanwhile, Berkeley's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 54-20 loss at the hands of Encinal. While losing is never fun, Berkeley can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 900th, while Encinal is ranked 359th).
Arroyo's win bumped their record up to 4-14. As for Berkeley, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-13 record this season.
Arroyo was taken down by Berkeley 65-27 in their previous matchup back in December of 2018. The game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Arroyo was down 38-14.
