Maize has gone  a perfect 10-0 against South recently and they'll look to pad the win column further  on Friday. The Eagles will take on the Cougars at 7:00  p.m. Maize is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.
Maize is headed in fresh off scoring the most  points they have   all season. They breezed past Valley Center to the tune of  68-34 on Friday. Fans of the Eagles have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+  points.
 Brayden Myovela produced another solid  performance rushing for 154 yards and a pair of  touchdowns on only seven carries, while also throwing for 153 yards and four  TDs while completing 73.3% of his passes. His longest rush was for an impressive 57 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. Another player making a difference was  Shannon Jones, who rushed for 111 yards and two  scores on only 12 carries.
 They were just one part of a punishing run game: Maize was unstoppable on the ground and  finished the game with 379  rushing yards. That's the most  rushing yards they've posted since back in October of 2024.

 Maize's defensive line stepped up as well, laying out  Connor Thatcher three times. In that department,  Rendor Hada was the leader with two sacks. Hada is also crushing it when it comes to  total tackles: he's   made at least five every time he's  taken the field this season. Another thorn in Valley Center's side was  Josiah Cole, who picked up  a  sack and made ten total tackles (3.0 for loss).
Meanwhile,  there's no place like home for South, who bounced back after a  loss on the road  two weeks ago. They blew past Haysville Campus, posting  a  55-6 victory.
 South found their leader in sophomore  Izrael Telles, who threw for 276 yards and six  touchdowns while completing 92.3% of his passes. Those six  passing touchdowns set a new season-high mark for  Telles.
 Maize's record is now 7-0. As for South, their  win (their first of the  season) made their record 1-6.
 Everything came up roses for Maize against South when the teams last played  back in October of 2024, as the  team secured  a  57-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the  squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
