The San Marcos Royals had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against San Jacinto by a score of 58-51 on Saturday.
Despite the loss, San Jacinto still got an impressive performance from Mary Oziengbe, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 18 rebounds. Oziengbe has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last five times she's played. Another player making a difference was Miyah Stevenson, who scored 9 points along with 7 rebounds and 5 assists.
San Marcos' victory bumped their record up to 2-3. As for San Jacinto, they have fallen quite a ways from their 20-6 record last season and are now at 1-5.
San Marcos will head out on the road to face off against Oaks Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Oaks Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 39 on Saturday. As for San Jacinto, they will be playing at home against Moreno Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
