After flying high against Valley Academy of Arts & Sciences on Friday, Chavez came back down to earth. The Eagles came up short against the University Wildcats on Saturday, falling 14-8. The Eagles' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Jose Garcia and Joey Uribe stepped up to the plate in a big way. Garcia went 2-for-4 with two runs and one double, while Uribe went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one run. That double was Garcia's first of the season. Jaden Landeros was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Chavez's defeat dropped their record down to 4-9. As for University, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 11-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Chavez will venture away from home to square off against Arleta at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. As for University, they will head out to take on Westchester at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
