For the first time this season, Show Low will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will venture away from home to take on the Snowflake Lobos at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Show Low 4, Snowflake 3.8) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Show Low barely beat Round Valley the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Cougars put the hurt on the Elks with a sharp 19-13 win on Saturday. The Cougars haven't had any issues with the Elks recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.
Show Low got a massive performance out of Mason Bigos, who went 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Bode Kenney, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Show Low kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 21 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in six consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Snowflake beat Chinle 6-2 on Saturday.
Curtis Hollom spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on five hits and racked up seven Ks.
On the hitting side, Snowflake let Tate Matthews and Kyler Matthews run wild. Tate went 2-for-4 with one home run, while Kyler went 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. That home run marked the first that Tate has launched this season. Another player making a difference was Graham Bawden, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI.
Show Low's record now sits at 12-3. As for Snowflake, their record is now 6-2-1.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Show Low has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10.3 hits per game. However, it's not like Snowflake struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 4.3 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance. Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more baseball content.
