They will square off against the Pacifica Christian/Orange County Tritons at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Capistrano Valley Christian suffered their biggest loss since November 27, 2023 on Tuesday. Their rough 58-33 defeat to Orangewood Academy might stick with them for a while. Capistrano Valley Christian has struggled against Orangewood Academy recently, as their matchup on Tuesday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Meanwhile, Pacifica Christian/Orange County's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight loss. They suffered a tough 60-40 defeat at the hands of Fairmont Prep. While losing is never fun, Pacifica Christian/Orange County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 119th, while Fairmont Prep is ranked 28th).
Despite the loss, Pacifica Christian/Orange County got a solid performance out of Alexia Valencia, who scored 22 points along with two blocks.
Capistrano Valley Christian's loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 12-14. The slump could be explained by some tough opposition over that stretch, namely Orangewood Academy, Fairmont Prep, and Pacifica Christian/Orange County. As for Pacifica Christian/Orange County, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 18-7 record this season.
Capistrano Valley Christian and Pacifica Christian/Orange County were neck-and-neck when the teams last played last Saturday, but Capistrano Valley Christian came up empty-handed after a 57-56 loss. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Pacifica Christian/Orange County's Vivian Villagrana, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds.
