The Flintridge Prep Wolves will face off against the Polytechnic Panthers at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a three-game winning streak alive.
While Flintridge Prep's win against Chadwick wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Wolves skirted past the Dolphins 6-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Wolves have posted since April 24, 2024.
Will Grable made a splash while hitting and pitching. He pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with two RBI and one run.
In other pitching news, Flintridge Prep got a great performance from Chase Liston as he pitched five innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off seven hits. Liston also tossed no walks, which is notable because the Wolves are 2-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 5-12 otherwise.

Grable wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Spencer Rolfe, who went 1-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base. Those two runs gave Rolfe a new career-high. Another was Casey Augenstein, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
Flintridge Prep hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They are 2-1 when they post two or more strikeouts.
Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Polytechnic challenged Cantwell-Sacred Heart of Mary on Monday. The Panthers came out on top against the Cardinals by a score of 7-2.
Elijah Ip spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on five hits and racked up six Ks.
Polytechnic's win bumped their record up to 6-11. As for Flintridge Prep, their victory bumped their record up to 7-13.
Flintridge Prep beat Polytechnic 10-5 in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Do the Wolves have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Panthers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
