The New Ulm Cathedral Greyhounds will be playing at home against the Cedar Mountain Cougars at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Minnesota (New Ulm Cathedral is ranked 14th, while Cedar Mountain is ranked 15th).
After a string of four wins, New Ulm Cathedral's good fortune finally ran out last Wednesday. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 40-18 walloping at the hands of Hills-Beaver Creek. New Ulm Cathedral had a rough season last year, but they look ready to turn that poor record around this year.
Meanwhile, Cedar Mountain can now show off three landslide victories after their most recent game last Wednesday. They breezed by Nicollet on the road to the tune of 49-13. The victory was just what Cedar Mountain needed coming off of a 40-18 defeat in their prior contest.
Cooper Freitag was his usual excellent self, rushing for 240 yards and six touchdowns while picking up 12.6 yards per carry. Freitag is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in the last four games he's played.
New Ulm Cathedral's loss dropped their record down to 7-2. As for Cedar Mountain, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season.
