The Upper Merion Area Vikings waltzed into their matchup Friday with three straight wins but they left with four. The stars were shining brightly for them in a 34-20 win over Pottstown. That's another feather in the cap for Upper Merion Area, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Upper Merion Area found their leader in underclassman Kennedy Coles, who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. Those 12 points set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Olivia Smith, who scored seven points along with seven rebounds.
Upper Merion Area pushed their record up to 4-1 with that win, which was their third straight at home. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 20.33 points. As for Pottstown, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-2.
Upper Merion Area will head out on the road to face off against Upper Perkiomen at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Pottstown will be home for the holidays to greet Pottsgrove at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
