Charleston has gone a perfect 7-0 against Robinson recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Trojans are taking a road trip to challenge the Maroons at 4:30 p.m. Charleston is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7 runs per game this season.
Charleston will bounce into Monday's game after beating St. Anthony, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. The Trojans walked away with a 6-3 victory over the Bulldogs on Friday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Trojans.
Landon Shafer made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (three). He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three RBI.
In other batting news, Chase King was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March.
Meanwhile, Robinson was not the first on the board on Saturday, but they got there more often. Everything went their way against Dieterich as they made off with an 8-2 win.
The team relied heavily on Jetson Hoalt, who went 3-for-5 with three runs, two doubles, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Braylon Murray, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two RBI and one run.
Charleston's record now sits at 12-3. As for Robinson, their record is now 9-10.
Robinson's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Charleston hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .323. It's a different story for Robinson, though, as they've only averaged .230. Will they be able to contain Charleston's hitters?
Charleston skirted past Robinson 2-1 in their previous matchup back in April of 2025. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Trojans since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
