The Antelope Titans will face off against the McClatchy Lions at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Antelope is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.5 runs per game this season.
Antelope was handed a ten-run defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Wednesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over Cordova. The win was some much needed relief for the Titans as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Meanwhile, McClatchy never let their opponents score on Friday. Everything went their way against Grant as they made off with a 13-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Lions, who have now won eight games by six runs or more so far this season.
Colt Logsdon and Dominic Brazelton made a splash no matter where they played. Throwing, Logsdon tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Brazelton tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances. At bat, Logsdon got on base in two of his three plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs, while Brazelton went a perfect 1-for-1 with one triple and one run. Those two stolen bases gave Logsdon a new career-high.
In other pitching news, Connor Nurmi looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (three).
McClatchy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Grant only posted an OBP of .067.
Antelope now has a winning record of 6-5. As for McClatchy, their win bumped their record up to 12-2.
Wednesday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Antelope has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .493. However, it's not like McClatchy struggles in that department as they've averaged .455. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Antelope suffered a grim 11-0 defeat to McClatchy when the teams last played back in April of 2025. Will the Titans have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
