The Cameron County Raiders struggled with assists on Tuesday (the Otto-Eldred Terrors had 12 more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Cameron County took a hard 50-32 fall against Otto-Eldred. Cameron County has not had much luck with Otto-Eldred recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Despite the loss, Cameron County had strong showings from Elsie Bresslin, who scored 14 points along with four steals, and Navaeh Spaeth, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds and three steals. That's the first time this season that Spaeth pulled down eight or more rebounds.
Otto-Eldred's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Carrie Drummond, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Drummond is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last five games she's played. Kate Rhinehart was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with seven rebounds.
Cameron County has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost nine of their last ten matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-12 record this season. As for Otto-Eldred, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-6.
Cameron County will head out on the road to square off against Smethport at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Pennsylvania (Smethport is ranked 612th, while Cameron County is ranked 603rd). As for Otto-Eldred, they the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Galeton at 7:00 p.m. on January 25th. Galeton comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 20 points in their last 14 games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
