King-Chavez Community has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will challenge the Ocean View Christian Patriots at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. King-Chavez Community comes in on a streak of failing to score more than nine points in their last five games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
King-Chavez Community played against the Royals and lost via forfeit.
Last Thursday, Ocean View Christian didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against the Lions, but they still walked away with a 36-30 win. The win made it back-to-back wins for Ocean View Christian.
Carmen Palacios had an outrageously good game as she dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds. She is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Emery Lee, who scored five points along with five steals.
King-Chavez Community's loss was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Ocean View Christian, they have been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season.
King-Chavez Community was dealt a bruising 47-6 defeat at the hands of the Patriots when the teams last played back in December of 2018. Thankfully for King-Chavez Community, Alexis Vazquez (who almost dropped a double-double on 22 points and nine rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
