The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Tyrone in their matchups with Bellwood-Antis: they've now lost four in a row.
Bellwood-Antis' victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lilly Gerwert, who scored 17 points along with nine rebounds and five blocks. Gerwert has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Chloe Hammond, who scored 11 points along with five assists.
Tyrone has been struggling recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-10 record this season. As for Bellwood-Antis, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-5.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Tyrone will take on Bishop McCort at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Bellwood-Antis, they will be playing at home against Central at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Central is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.
