Granite Hills had lost four straight at home, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 7-14 to make it five. They fell just short of the Woodlake Tigers by a score of 9-7. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Grizzlies have suffered against the Tigers since May 31, 2021.
Adrian Bedolla spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered four earned (and five unearned) runs on eight hits.

At the plate, Joseph Magana made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-5 with three stolen bases, one run, and one double. He is becoming a predictor of Granite Hills' success: when he posts at least three hits the team is 2-1 (and 5-13 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Leonel Leon, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.
As for Woodlake, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games.
On Woodlake's side, Elias Lang made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits (and only one walk). Lang has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one triple.
In other batting news, Woodlake let Connor Bates and Guillermo Rosales run wild. Bates went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI, while Rosales went 2-for-4 with two doubles, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most doubles Rosales has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Jeremiah Taylor, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.
Granite Hills wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 5-1 defeat against Corcoran on the 1st. As for Woodlake, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 12-2 victory against Lindsay on the 1st.
