The South Pointe Griffins's game last Tuesday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They walked away with a 62-55 win over West Phoenix. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
South Pointe got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jeremyah Russell out in front who scored 21 points. That's the first time this season that Russell scored 15 or more points. Prince Sohn was another key contributor, scoring 18 points along with seven assists and five rebounds.
South Pointe pushed their record up to 3-2 with that win, which was their third straight at home. As for West Phoenix, their loss dropped their record down to 2-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. South Pointe won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Bella Vista College Preparatory School at 7:30 p.m. on December 15th. As for West Phoenix, they will head out on the road to face off against Sequoia Pathfinder Verrado Way at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
