Brimley extended their losing streak to four on Saturday, dropping them down to 6-8. They lost 17-2 to the Harbor Light Christian Swordsmen. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Swordsmen this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-0 on Saturday.
Micah Morrison was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
As for Harbor Light Christian, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 19-5. The result was nothing new for the Swordsmen, who have now won 14 matchups by ten runs or more so far this season.
On Harbor Light Christian's side, Jonny Urman and Will Paulus made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Urman pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Paulus pitched 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Urman has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk in six consecutive appearances. At the plate, Urman went 1-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double, while Paulus went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most hits Paulus has posted since back in May of 2025.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Gerrit Boerman, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Travis Rose, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Brimley will take on Mackinaw City at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Harbor Light Christian, they will venture away from home to square off against Rogers City at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
