The Rockwood Rockets lost against the Windber Ramblers back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Rockwood was beaten by Windber 59-30. Rockwood has struggled against Windber recently, as their game on Friday was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.
Leading Windber to victory were Kaylie Gaye and Mariah Andrews. Gaye scored 14 points along with six steals, while Andrews dropped a double-double on 18 points and 18 rebounds. Andrews continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Angel James, who scored eight points.
Rockwood's defeat dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Windber, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 4-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rockwood will take on Meyersdale at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Windber, they will head out on the road to face off against Southern Fulton at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Southern Fulton is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.
