The Tulelake Honkers won the last time they faced the Hayfork Timberjacks, and things went their way on Saturday too. Tulelake was the clear victor by a 50-29 margin over Hayfork.
Tulelake got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Makenzie Perez out in front who scored 9 points along with 12 rebounds and 5 assists. The team also got some help courtesy of McKenna Fine, who scored 15 points along with 6 rebounds.
The win got Tulelake back to even at 4-4. As for Hayfork, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-4.
Tulelake will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Fall River at 4:00 p.m. on December 14th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in California (Fall River is ranked 602nd, while Tulelake is ranked 611th). As for Hayfork, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Dunsmuir at 5:30 p.m. Hopefully Dunsmuir focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up seven on Wednesday.
