Softball Recap: Seckinger Has No Trouble Against Hillgrove

Seckinger came out on top against Hillgrove on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run third inning. The Jaguars blew past the Hawks 8-1. The Jaguars might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 contests by six runs or more this season.

Annmarie Nagy looked comfortable as she tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Addison Szymanski, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. That's the most runs she has posted since back in September. The team also got some help courtesy of Megan Whitt, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Seckinger is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 16-9 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.6 runs on average over those games. As for Hillgrove, they now have a losing record of 12-13.

As of now, neither Seckinger nor the Hawks have any future games scheduled.
