The Durant Cougars won the last time they faced the Riverview Sharks, and things went their way on Friday too. Durant strolled past Riverview with points to spare, taking the game 36-22.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Durant to victory, but perhaps none more so than Emmanuel Lee, who rushed for 213 yards on only 12 carries. Lee really tore up the turf during one magnificent 77-yard run. Quentin Pope got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
When it comes to explaining why Riverview lost, one person who can't be blamed is Dontarious "Rico" Shoats. Despite the final result, he rushed for 121 yards and a touchdown.
Durant is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-2 record this season. As for Riverview, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-2.
Durant does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Riverview will play host again and welcome Steinbrenner, where Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
