It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Lincoln Tigers can now relate to. They fell 41-30 to the Lions on Saturday. Lincoln just can't catch a break and has now endured ten defeats in a row.
Lakeview Charter's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Liliana Word led the charge by scoring seven points along with 15 rebounds and six steals. Word hasn't dropped below ten rebounds for 12 straight games. Alani Kyles was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with two steals.
Lincoln's loss was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-15. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 27.5 points per game. As for Lakeview Charter, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 15-7.
Lincoln does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Lakeview Charter, they will square off against Bernstein at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Bernstein will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Lakeview Charter surely won't give up without a fight.
