Minarets is 0-10 against Caruthers since February of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Minarets Mustangs will be playing in front of their home fans against the Caruthers Blue Raiders at 6:00 p.m. Minarets comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 19 points in their last four games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
Minarets suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Friday. They were outmatched by Sierra at home and fell 72-16. Minarets was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 49-8.
Meanwhile, Caruthers pushed their score all the way to 57 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell to Liberty 61-57. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Caruthers came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 105th, while Liberty is ranked 253rd).
Minarets has not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-8 record this season. As for Caruthers, their loss dropped their record down to 11-6.
Minarets was dealt a bruising 97-8 loss at the hands of Caruthers when the teams last played back in January of 2023. Thankfully for Minarets, Morgan Trigueiro (who scored 29 points) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
