The West Valley Eagles won the last time they faced the Red Bluff Spartans, and things went their way  on Saturday too. West Valley enjoyed a cozy  44-27 win over Red Bluff. Given West Valley's advantage  in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings  (they are ranked 159th, while Red Bluff is ranked 527th), the result  wasn't entirely unexpected.
 Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead West Valley to victory, but perhaps none more so than   Kayla Wiley, who  scored 15 points along with seven  assists and six  rebounds. Those seven  assists set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was  Emily Nolan, who  scored 13 points.
 West Valley has  been performing  incredibly well recently as they've  won six of their last seven contests,  which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season. As for Red Bluff, they have  been struggling recently, as they've  lost six of their last seven matches,  which put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season.
 Both  teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. West Valley has the luxury  of staying home another  game and will welcome Central Valley at 7:30  p.m.  on January 9th. Central Valley has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 11. As for Red Bluff, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Shasta at 7:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. Shasta has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last five games.
