The Beaumont United Timberwolves entered their tilt with the West Brook Bruins with seven consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with eight. Beaumont United walked away with a 57-49 win over West Brook on Tuesday. Given Beaumont United's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked tenth, while West Brook is ranked 88th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Kayde Dotson was his usual excellent self, scoring 19 points. The matchup was his 12th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ashton Green, who scored six points.
Despite the loss, West Brook still got an impressive performance from Ashton Simmons, who scored 18 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Simmons scored a full 36.7% of West Brook's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Jaylin Jones was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with nine rebounds.
Beaumont United's win bumped their record up to 21-1. As for West Brook, they bumped their record down to 16-8 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road.
