After a string of four wins, the Beddingfield Bruins's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a 53-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of Goldsboro. Beddingfield found out winning isn't easy when you don't work as a unit and post 14 fewer assists than your opponent.
Despite the loss, Beddingfield still got an impressive performance from Natasha Marshall, who scored 18 points along with four steals. Marshall hasn't dropped below two steals for 12 straight games. TJohnna Harris was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Goldsboro got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Aziyah Boyer out in front who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 12 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Des'Myah Croom, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 13 rebounds.
Beddingfield's defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-4. As for Goldsboro, they pushed their record up to 17-1 with that victory, which was their seventh straight on the road.
Beddingfield will take on North Johnston at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. North Johnston's defense has only allowed 24.6 points per game this season, so Beddingfield's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Goldsboro, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Princeton at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Goldsboro is facing Princeton at the right time seeing as Princeton is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
