The Purchase Line Red Dragons's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their seventh straight loss. They were beaten by Homer-Center 66-35. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Purchase Line of the 60-25 loss they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture back in January.
When it comes to explaining why Purchase Line lost, one person who can't be blamed is Anna Layden. Despite the final result, she scored 12 points along with eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Katie Weaver, who scored seven points along with two steals.
Purchase Line's defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 5-15. As for Homer-Center, their victory ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-11.
Purchase Line will square off against the Golden Tide at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Homer-Center will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on the Chucks at 6:00 p.m. on February 14th.
