Westminster is 7-1 against Katella since April of 2021, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Westminster Lions will head out on the road to challenge the Katella Knights at 6:30 p.m. Westminster is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
Westminster posted their closest win yet this season on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Ocean View and snuck past 31-28.
Katella has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They had to suffer through a rough 59-32 loss at the hands of Segerstrom. While losing is never fun, Katella can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 569th, while Segerstrom is ranked 259th).
Westminster's win ended a seven-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-16. As for Katella, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-7.
Westminster opened the new year with a less-than-successful 50-38 loss to Katella. Can Westminster avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
