The Xavier Prep Saints have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 20 points or more this season. They really took it to Rancho Mirage for the full four quarters, racking up a 60-13 victory at home. The victory was some much needed relief for Xavier Prep as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Xavier Prep's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Grace Thomsen, who scored 17 points along with three blocks. Those three blocks set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Amoree Ferrel, who scored nine points along with eight assists and five steals.
Xavier Prep's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-3. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.7 points per game. As for Rancho Mirage, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-8.
Xavier Prep and Vaughn will round out the year against one another at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday at. Hopefully Vaughn focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up seven last Saturday. Rancho Mirage will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Brawley at 10:15 a.m. on Thursday.
