The Corona Panthers will be taking part in a tournament against the Etiwanda Eagles at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Corona is coming home in high spirits after they had to open their season on the road against Maranatha. The Panthers never let the Minutemen get on the board and left with an 11-0 victory on Friday.
Corona gave Mason Sims the start and clearly made the right call: he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. Anakin Tolman relieved him and did a solid job, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

Corona was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Maranatha only posted a batting average of .050.

Michael Aleman got the start for Etiwanda and what a start it was: he tossed 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Lj Roellig, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. James Milam was another key player, going 1-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.
Everything went Corona's way against Etiwanda when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Corona made off with an 11-0 win. Will the Panthers repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
