The Bishop Diego Cardinals put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with a 45-33 win over Coastal Christian. That's another feather in the cap for Bishop Diego, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Bishop Diego had a senior duo take command as Diana Mendez scored 16 points and Galilea De la cruz scored 15 points. That makes it two consecutive games in which De la cruz has scored at least 25% of Bishop Diego's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaymi Coronado, who scored 6 points.
Bishop Diego pushed their record up to 7-0 with that win, which was their third straight at home. As for Coastal Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.
Bishop Diego has the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Paraclete at 3:30 p.m. on December 2nd. Paraclete will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 530th, while Bishop Diego is ranked 97th). Coastal Christian will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Holy Martyrs Armenian at 7:00 p.m. on December 2nd.
