The Enochs Eagles lost against the El Capitan Gauchos back in November of 2017, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. Enochs had to suffer through a rough 56-18 loss at the hands of El Capitan. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Enochs has scored all season.
Enochs' loss came despite strong showings from Natalie Quinones and Destiny Ngo. Quinones scored seven points along with five rebounds, while Ngo scored no points.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Enochs struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
El Capitan's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Shantelle Magana, who scored 16 points along with nine steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Magana has scored at least 25% of El Capitan's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Madysen Dietz, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten steals.
Enochs' loss was their fourth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 3-6. As for El Capitan, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 8-0.
Enochs will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Pacheco at 4:30 p.m. on December 27th. El Capitan will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Twelve Bridges at 4:30 p.m. on December 14th. Twelve Bridges will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 568th, while El Capitan is ranked 185th).
