There's no place like home for the Washington Tigers, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Friday. They strolled past Ashland with points to spare on Saturday, taking the game 82-65. Given Washington's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 120th, while the Arrows are ranked 398th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Chris Knight continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, shooting 5-for-7 from downtown and dropping a double-double on 31 points and 11 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Jadyce Thigpen, who scored 19 points along with six assists and five rebounds.
Washington's victory bumped their record up to 11-5. As for Ashland, their loss dropped their record down to 8-11.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Washington will take on the Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Ashland, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Yellowjackets at 7:15 p.m. Mt. Vernon has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
