While losing is never fun, Patrick Henry can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 857th, while Monte Vista is ranked 226th).
Patrick Henry's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Kimora Nears, who scored 11 points. Honey Smith was another key contributor, scoring 10 points.
Patrick Henry has yet to win a contest at home this season, leaving them with a 1-7 record. As for Monte Vista, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Patrick Henry will take on Chula Vista at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Monte Vista, they will head out on the road to face off against Morse at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Morse will be coming into the game with an undefeated record on the line.
