The Bishop's Knights will head out to square off against the La Jolla Country Day Torreys at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Bishop's will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.
Bishop's will bounce into Monday's match after beating Maranatha Christian, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. The Knights blew past the Eagles 16-3 on Friday. Considering the Knights have won five contests by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Clyde Kates made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. Kates was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with three runs and one RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March.

Matthew Onaitis tossed a big game, pitching 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits.

Bishop's pushed their record up to 10-5-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games. As for La Jolla Country Day, their record now sits at 10-8.
La Jolla Country Day's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Bishop's hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .323. It's a different story for La Jolla Country Day, though, as they've only averaged .256. Will they be able to contain Bishop's hitters?
Bishop's might still be hurting after the 8-0 defeat they got from La Jolla Country Day in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Knights avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
