It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Joseph City had no problem doing just that on Friday. They blew past the Hayden Lobos 24-2. The Wildcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 20 matches by eight runs or more this season.
Lorelai Sander made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. Sander was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two triples and five RBI. Those two triples gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, April Neill was incredible, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and five RBI. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 2 runs per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Audrey Neill, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one double.
Joseph City is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 26-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.1 runs over those games. As for Hayden, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 13-15.
Joseph City wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, an 11-10 win against St. David on the 12th. Hayden does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
