Ironwood lost to Willow Canyon  back in October of 2023, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. The Ironwood Eagles sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with  a  30-28  win over the Willow Canyon Wildcats. The  victory made it back-to-back  wins for the Eagles.
 Leading Ironwood to victory were  Khavontae Paul and  Ramsey Pyne.  Paul rushed for 115 yards and a touchdown, while  Pyne picked up 115 receiving yards and three touchdowns. The bulk of those receiving yards came from one huge play: a catch that gained an incredible 60 yards.
 Despite the  loss, Willow Canyon saw an underclassman step up: sophomore  Joel Cooper rushed for 239 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 8.2 yards per carry. Those 239  rushing yards gave  Cooper a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of  Roman Thuyns, who rushed for 63 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries.
 Ironwood has  been performing  well recently as they've  won three of their last four matchups,  which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record  this season. As for Willow Canyon,  this is the second loss in a row for them and  nudges their season record down to 3-6.
 Ironwood has already played their next game,  a  33-20  defeat against Apollo on the 8th. As for Willow Canyon, they also  didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next  match,  a  54-47  loss against Goldwater on the 8th.
