University had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They never let the Weld Central Rebels get on the board and left with a 12-0 win on Friday. Considering the Bulldogs have won 20 matchups by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Sydney Goetzel made a big impact no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out seven over four innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 13 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two RBI. Those four hits gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Kamzee Kern and Kendall Dietz did most of the damage at the plate: Kern went 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double, while Dietz went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. That triple marked the first that Dietz has hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jocelyn Chacon, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

University was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Weld Central only posted a batting average of .214.

The victory was the 14th in a row for University, bringing their record up to 24-2. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.9 runs on average over those games. As for Weld Central, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-16 record this season.

University didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, an 11-1 victory against The Classical Academy on the 24th. Weld Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
