It was a good run, but the Saint Francis Lancers unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell just short of Pioneer by a score of 43-41. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Saint Francis has scored all season.
Saint Francis lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Allison Dauer, who scored ten points along with three steals. Those three steals set a new season-high mark for her. Paige Spencer was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with five rebounds.
Saint Francis bumped their record down to 4-1 with that loss, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Pioneer, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 7-1.
Saint Francis will head out on the road to face off against Santa Cruz at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Santa Cruz will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 332nd, while Saint Francis is ranked 87th). Pioneer will be home for the holidays to greet Los Gatos at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
