After a string of five wins, Paramount's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They lost 7-1 to the Long Beach Poly Jackrabbits. If the Pirates were looking for revenge after losing 7-4 to the Jackrabbits when the teams met back in March of 2018, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Paramount's defeat dropped their record down to 14-8. As for Long Beach Poly, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-10.

Coming up, Paramount will face off against St. Paul at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The Swordsmen's pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so the Pirates' hitters will have their work cut out for them. Long Beach Poly will be paying especially close attention to Paramount's game: after Paramount faces off against St. Paul, they'll take on Long Beach Poly again at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
